Another Eden Begins Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack

The Upgrade Pack is the small product with the loud search volume. Nintendo’s US eShop sells Another Eden Begins - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack at $5.00. It upgrades a purchased Nintendo Switch copy to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. It does not include the game if you never bought Switch. It does not merge Steam and Nintendo libraries. It does not move a demo save by itself. This page is the license sheet. Dates stay on the release-date page. Box contents stay on editions.

The full campaign launches 17 September 2026 on Japan official copy (Nintendo US lists 16 September 2026 — same worldwide unlock). The six-chapter demo is already playable on Switch, Switch 2, and Steam. Play that first if you are still choosing hardware.

What Nintendo actually prints

On the Switch 2 Edition product page, Nintendo lists a version picker: Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Upgrade Pack. Switch 2 Edition bullets:

• Enhanced graphics with 4K support
• Improved framerate up to 60 FPS for smoother gameplay

Estimated file sizes on that same family of pages:

• Nintendo Switch: about 3.6 GB on the Switch 2 product sheet (the standalone Switch page has also shown about 4 GB).
• Nintendo Switch 2 Edition: about 11.6 GB.
• Upgrade Pack listing: about 1 MB, because the pack is a license, not a second ROM.

Japan official copy says a Nintendo Switch purchase can be upgraded to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition by buying an アップグレードパス (Upgrade Pass). US storefront language is Upgrade Pack. Same idea, different label. Japan list prices for the games themselves remain 4,980 yen (Switch / Steam) and 5,480 yen (Switch 2 Edition). The five-dollar US pack is the western number this page stamps.

Supported controllers on the Switch 2 Edition page include the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. The standard Switch page lists the Switch Pro Controller. Play modes: TV, tabletop, handheld. Single-player only. Nintendo Account family-group lending is listed as supported. Nintendo Switch Online Save Data Cloud is listed as supported. None of those lines add a second human to the command window.

What the pack will not do

• It will not buy you the game. You need the Nintendo Switch version already, or you buy the Switch 2 Edition outright at about $44.99 instead of Switch at about $39.99 plus $5.
• It will not convert Steam. App ID 4163960 is a separate PC product. System requirements and Steam Deck notes are the PC path. There is no published cross-store upgrade.
• It will not replace save transfer. Demo progress moves by the official Switch prompt (boot the full game with no save, confirm, do not interrupt) or by the Steam / Deck folder copy. The Upgrade Pack does not copy SaveDataDemo for you.
• It will not add DLC Character Packs. Those are store add-ons with their own yen prices and encounter-quest gates.
• It will not add the Japan Collection Box soundtrack. That disc is a physical extra. See the soundtrack page.
• It will not change the story. Nineteen boxed characters, three eras, New Game+ after the credits. Video mode changes. Baruoki does not.

How to choose in one paragraph

If you already live on Switch 2 and want the 4K / 60 FPS bullets, buy the Switch 2 Edition or buy Switch plus this pack. If you only have a Switch, the standard $39.99 SKU is the whole campaign — Nintendo’s Switch page says behavior on Switch 2 is consistent with Switch if you simply run that card/download on the newer dock, and the pack is how you pay for the Edition extras. If you are on PC, ignore this page and read the spec sheet. If you want a Japan box, the Collection Box is still listed; the Special Collection Box is sold out on the official Japanese site.

Launch-week order of operations

1. Finish or skip the demo on the hardware you will keep. Getting Started is the install checklist; the demo walkthrough is the opening route.
2. If the demo save matters, read save transfer before you boot the paid ROM.
3. Buy one Nintendo SKU, not two. Apply the Upgrade Pack only if you already own Switch and now want Switch 2 Edition features.
4. Serial codes from the purchase still go into the original Cat Beyond Time and Space game. Rules differ for Japanese Switch downloads versus Steam website claims. That is the serial codes hub, not this pack.
