Demo Guide

Wright Flyer Studios opened a free Another Eden Begins demo on 2 September 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. Official scope is main story chapters 1–6. Story progress and character stats from that save can transfer into the full game when the campaign launches 17 September 2026. This page is the news and policy sheet. The beat-by-beat opening lives on the demo walkthrough. The folder-by-folder copy lives on save transfer. First-hour install habits live on Getting Started.

The demo is not the full game. It will not open New Game+. It will not hand you all 19 companions. Play it anyway if you want the command window in your hands before you spend $40-class money.

What you can do in the trial

  • Play the opening wound: Baruoki, Feinne, the Beast King, Moonlight Forest, the throw into 1100 AD. That is the published prologue and the well-known Part 1 start.
  • Learn symbol encounters, the command list, chain skills, and Another Force. The combat guide exists so you can reread those systems without pausing the cutscene.
  • Meet early companions. Amy and Riica are the names players should expect in the future city; the walkthrough does not invent later join chapters.
  • Leave a clean save at a chapter boundary so transfer is boring instead of scary.

What you should not do: treat the trial as a gacha. There is nothing to pull. Do not type serial codes into Begins; those strings belong to the original Cat Beyond Time and Space client.

Transfer in one paragraph

Switch: boot the full game with no existing save, confirm the prompt, do not interrupt. Steam: turn off Cloud, delete the full game’s SaveData folder if you already opened it, copy SaveDataDemo from the demo folder, rename it SaveData. Steam Deck: same idea through compatdata 4391790 (demo) and 4163960 (full) in Desktop Mode. The long version with every path is save transfer.

Why the demo exists

Begins is a premium campaign from a studio best known for a live-service original. The trial is the honest pitch: six chapters, real command battles, real voice acting, a file that can continue. If the combat click does not land, you have lost a download, not a weekend. If it does land, you already have a party for 17 September. Party building and the tier list hub can wait until you have actually pressed Fire Slash.

After chapter 6

The trial stops. You do not get antiquity’s full tour, you do not get New Game+, and you do not get a published list of every remaining companion join. That is fine. Use the remaining days before 17 September 2026 to reread combat, set controls the way you actually like them, and decide whether the save is worth keeping. If it is, the transfer page is homework, not optional flavor.

If the six chapters felt too close to a mobile game you already finished, read Begins versus the original before you refund a feeling. Begins is still a premium campaign with a closed 19-person box. The demo is only the door.

Sibling update: release date and editions. Related tools: system requirements. Official storefronts sit on links. Play the six chapters as a story, not as a checklist of hidden chests this wiki refuses to invent.
